Ingredients:

500 gr. Yams
1 tbs Oil or Margarine
1/2 cup Water
1/4 tsp Salt
1 tbs Brown sugar


Preparation:

  1. Clean and peel yams
  2. Cut into 11/2 - 2 cm wide slices
  3. Heat oil in pot
  4. Add yams and stir a few times
  5. Add water, salt and brown sugar
  6. Bring to a boil
  7. Lower heat and cook for another 15 minutes or until ready
  8. If liquid is left then boil until it becomes a syrup
  9. Transfer to serving dish
