Yams

Ingredients:
500 gr. | Yams |
1 tbs | Oil or Margarine |
1/2 cup | Water |
1/4 tsp | Salt |
1 tbs | Brown sugar |
Preparation:
- Clean and peel yams
- Cut into 11/2 - 2 cm wide slices
- Heat oil in pot
- Add yams and stir a few times
- Add water, salt and brown sugar
- Bring to a boil
- Lower heat and cook for another 15 minutes or until ready
- If liquid is left then boil until it becomes a syrup
- Transfer to serving dish
