Nachman: During my trip in the Ukraine and Russia, I looked for Borscht on the menue. Unfortunately, when I finally found some, it turns out that they do not have Ema's recipe and therefore it was a big disappointment. It just wasn't like mother used to make...

Reuven: A day before Imma goes back to Magdiel (yestreday, April 27, 2008), she asked me "what would you like me to prepare before I leave?"
"Borsht!" I replied. Then, while Imma was making it, I recalled that Nachman was looking for pictures of Imma's Borsht - with no success. So.... here it is - the real thing - in pictures!

By the way, I ate it today for dinner. UNBELIEVABLE - PERFECT !!!



Ingredients:

2 Beets, pealed
? Kg Meat, cut into cubes
2-3 Carrots, pealed
1 Onion
? tsp Lemon juice
? Sugar
to taste Salt
? cups Water
 to taste  Chicken soup powder




Preparation:

  1. Cook; beets,  carrots, onion, lemon juice, sugar, salt and water in pressure cooker.
  2. Remove beets and grate
  3. Return beets to pot and warm
  4. Add chicken soup powder to taste
  5. Add lemon juice to taste
